- Why should BITS build my web site?
BITS brings fifteen years of experience in IT support and web design. Our specialty is crafting websites for our customers who own and run small businesses and organizations. These websites are beautiful, fully functional, easy to use and maintain, and created to help build your business. We will be with you every step of the way of the design process and then we will remain to support you even after the web site is launched.
- How does the web design process work?
- We meet with you to determine your needs, desires, and budget.
- BITS will put together a proposal outlining the web design services we will provide and the associated costs.
- Upon our joint signing of the proposal, BITS will provide one or more graphical mock-ups and a general theme for the site.
- Once the graphical mock-up is selected by you, BITS will begin building the web site.
- You provide us with the images, text, and other custom elements and BITS will populate the web site with the necessary content.
- With your final approval, the web site is made available to the general public.
- How much does a web site cost?
There are many factors that affect the cost of your web site. They include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell on line, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your web site will be. Upon discussing your needs with us, we will be happy to provide you with a quote outlining your costs. Most of our customers spend less than $5,000 to build their initial sites. Some spend less than $3,000.
- How long will it take to build the web site?
This is another question that is difficult to answer. We can provide an initial estimate after we have discussed with you details about what you want– such as how much information you want to put on the website and what functionality you want to incorporate. But we can complete most projects in a couple months and in the past have provided the start of a web footprint in a matter of weeks, if you need to move quickly.
- What do I need to maintain the web site myself?
Most of our web sites are built using software technology that allows you to make modifications from any computer that is connected to the Internet. No special software is needed. In our initial conversation, we’ll discuss your goals– if you wish to maintain your web content yourself, we will make sure the solution we provide fits your needs. Otherwise, we will be happy to provide you a maintenance agreement whereby we continue to handle website updates.
